Shiruya - Privacy Policy Last updated: August 22, 2026

1. Who we are

Shiruya is a digital notebook operated by Ali Calimli. If you have questions about this policy or want to make a privacy request, contact alicalimli76@gmail.com.

2. What stays local

Shiruya is designed as a local-first product. Your notebook content, including notes, pages, journal entries, and personal writing, is intended to stay on your device.

We do not read, upload, or store the content of your notebook on our servers.

3. What data we collect

We may collect a limited amount of data to operate Shiruya.

Account and authentication data

  • Email address
  • Name or profile information provided through your sign-in method
  • Authentication-related identifiers needed to manage access

Authentication is handled through Supabase. If you use OAuth or another third-party sign-in method, that provider may also share basic profile information with us as part of the sign-in flow.

Anonymous analytics

We may collect anonymous or aggregated usage data to understand how Shiruya is used and to improve the app. This may include:

  • General product usage events
  • Counts of notes created
  • Counts of pages created

This analytics data does not include the content of your writing and is not intended to identify you personally.

4. How we use data

We use the limited data we collect to:

  • Create and manage user accounts
  • Authenticate users securely
  • Keep the app functioning
  • Understand product usage at an anonymous or aggregated level
  • Improve reliability, usability, and product decisions
  • Respond to support, legal, or security issues

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your notebook content for advertising.

5. Third-party services

Shiruya uses third-party services that may process limited data on our behalf.

Supabase - used for authentication and account-related services.

Umami - used for privacy-conscious analytics on the Shiruya website and product experience.

We may also rely on standard hosting or infrastructure providers to deliver the site and app.

6. Cookies and browser storage

Shiruya may use cookies, local storage, or similar browser technologies for things like:

  • Keeping you signed in
  • Supporting authentication flows
  • Storing local notebook data on your device
  • Measuring anonymous usage analytics

If you disable certain browser storage features, parts of Shiruya may not work correctly.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We only share limited data when necessary:

  • With service providers that help us run Shiruya
  • If required by law, legal process, or valid governmental request
  • To protect the safety, rights, or security of Shiruya, its users, or others

8. Data retention

We keep account-related personal data only as long as needed to operate your account and provide the service.

If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove your personal account data from our active systems as soon as reasonably possible, subject to any limited retention needed for legal compliance, security, or fraud prevention.

Anonymous or aggregated analytics that cannot identify you may be retained for product analysis.

9. Children’s privacy

Shiruya is a general-audience product and is not specifically directed to children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate permission, contact us and we will review and delete that information where appropriate.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing

To make a request, contact alicalimli76@gmail.com.

11. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the limited personal data we process. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Because your notebook content is stored locally, you are also responsible for securing your device, browser profile, and local environment.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
