Kotobi — Terms of Service Last updated: April 20, 2025

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Kotobi, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Kotobi.

2. What Kotobi is

Kotobi is a vocabulary learning application that helps you build situation-specific language skills. It is currently provided free of charge. In the future, we may introduce a one-time paid plan. If that happens, the terms around payment will be updated clearly before any charges occur.

3. Your account

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials secure
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Providing accurate information when signing up

You must be at least 13 years old to use Kotobi. If you sign in with Google, your use of Google’s services is also governed by Google’s own Terms of Service.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Kotobi for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to access another user’s data
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the platform
• Upload or input content that is offensive, illegal, or harmful

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Your content

You own the vocabulary lists, contexts, and content you create in Kotobi. By using the app, you grant us a limited license to store and display that content to you within the app. We do not claim ownership over your data.

6. Availability

Kotobi is provided “as is.” We do our best to keep it available and reliable, but we make no guarantees of uptime, error-free operation, or that any specific feature will remain available indefinitely.

7. Paid plans (future)

Kotobi is currently free. If a paid plan is introduced:

• Pricing and what’s included will be clearly stated before purchase
• If it is a one-time payment, you will receive lifetime access to the plan purchased at that time
• Refund terms will be defined at the time of purchase

8. Termination

You can stop using Kotobi and request account deletion at any time by emailing alicalimli76@gmail.com.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with or without notice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kotobi and its creator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data or loss of progress.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, where the developer is based. Any disputes will be handled under Turkish jurisdiction.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and may notify you via email for significant changes. Continued use of Kotobi after changes means you accept the updated terms.

A few things worth noting, Ali:

• The “Last updated” date should reflect when you actually publish these, not today’s date if you’re not publishing right now.
• Once you add payment, update Section 7 of the ToS with the actual refund window (e.g. “7-day money-back guarantee”) — that’s the one section that’ll need real detail.
• If you ever add analytics tools like PostHog or Mixpanel later, Section 5 of the Privacy Policy needs updating before you ship it.
